Ngày 31.1, đồng chí Trần Thanh Mẫn – Ủy viên Bộ Chính trị, Chủ tịch Quốc hội, Chủ tịch Hội đồng Bầu cử Quốc gia – làm Trưởng Đoàn công tác Trung ương kiểm tra, giám sát công tác bầu cử tại tỉnh Vĩnh Long.

Tham gia Đoàn công tác có lãnh đạo Văn phòng Quốc hội, Hội đồng Bầu cử Quốc gia, các ủy ban của Quốc hội, Bộ Nội vụ, Ủy ban Trung ương Mặt trận Tổ quốc Việt Nam, Bộ Công an cùng đại diện các cơ quan liên quan.

Tại buổi làm việc ông Trần Trí Quang - Phó Bí thư Tỉnh uỷ, Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh cho biết, Vĩnh Long có hơn 4,25 triệu dân, 124 xã, phường; công tác chuẩn bị bầu cử được triển khai đồng bộ, đúng tiến độ, thành lập 37 thành viên Ủy ban bầu cử tỉnh, 2.908 tổ bầu cử, bảo đảm điều kiện tổ chức.

Regarding the number of elected deputies, the whole province has 18 National Assembly deputies, including 10 local deputies and 8 central deputies introduced; elected 85 provincial People's Council deputies and 2,701 commune-level People's Council deputies, corresponding to 6 National Assembly constituencies, 23 provincial People's Council constituencies and 817 commune-level People's Council constituencies.

Bên cạnh thuận lợi, Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Vĩnh Long nêu khó khăn là một số cán bộ xã còn mới, thiếu kinh nghiệm; thời gian tới tỉnh tiếp tục tập huấn, rà soát danh sách cử tri, tăng tuyên truyền, giữ vững an ninh, bảo đảm bầu cử ngày 15.3.2026 an toàn, đúng luật.

Speaking at the working session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested to clearly assign people and work, especially in a large area with 124 communes and wards; arising problems must be immediately overcome. Voter lists need to be posted promptly, reviewed to each household and each person. The quality of consultation and personnel work is identified as a decisive condition for the success of elections.

Professional training work must be carried out in the spirit of "holding hands and guiding", thoroughly, many times; unclear content must be answered immediately, limiting technical errors. In 42 peak days, the province needs to focus on leading and directing closely to the constituency, completing all time milestones according to the Central Government's direction.

The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized promoting propaganda before, during and after elections to all strata of people, focusing on Khmer ethnic people. At the same time, ensuring political security, social order and safety, health, fire prevention and fighting; arranging convenient polling stations in riverine areas, proactively responding to weather.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairwoman witnessed units sponsoring 3 billion VND for social security work in Binh Minh ward, Vinh Long province.

Previously, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly, and the working delegation visited and inquired about the family of Comrade Truong Vinh Trong and the family of General Le Van Dung. The delegation also offered incense at the Memorial Area of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet and the Memorial Area of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung.
